WEBVTT 1 00:00:00.840 --> 00:00:04.200 Hello everyone, welcome to a new episode of catch up with Cairo touch. 2 00:00:04.240 --> 00:00:08.679 I'm your host, Dr Brian Blast. I'm excited to welcome Josh Colemier, 3 00:00:08.800 --> 00:00:12.199 one of our own here at Kiro touch. Josh, thanks for joining us. 4 00:00:12.199 --> 00:00:15.759 Tell our listeners a bit about yourself well. Hello, Brian, and 5 00:00:15.839 --> 00:00:19.920 thanks for having me, and welcome to all our listeners again. My name 6 00:00:19.960 --> 00:00:25.000 is Josh Kalmer. For almost six years I've been helping chiropractors bring their practice 7 00:00:25.120 --> 00:00:29.920 into the digital age with Cairo touches, all in one digital system. I 8 00:00:29.920 --> 00:00:36.640 love collaborating with chiropractic offices to help them go from inefficient processes like paper files 9 00:00:36.640 --> 00:00:41.759 to a robust, easy to use platform like Kiro touch. I live for 10 00:00:41.880 --> 00:00:46.479 my clients feedback Brian here and how I help improve their work life balance by 11 00:00:46.520 --> 00:00:49.960 introducing them to a new system, a new way of doing things. That 12 00:00:50.119 --> 00:00:56.479 is saved them sleepless nights. I was actually told recently without Chirojudge, one 13 00:00:56.520 --> 00:01:00.159 of my clients would have missed most of most of his daughter's swim season doing 14 00:01:00.280 --> 00:01:04.359 notes, but this season we didn't miss a single meat. He's ecstatic. 15 00:01:04.400 --> 00:01:08.560 He called and shared that with me. It's just amazing how software can help 16 00:01:08.640 --> 00:01:12.200 us do so much more in our time. That's so true. Thanks, 17 00:01:12.280 --> 00:01:15.359 Josh. Appreciate your sharing that story. So today we're going to be discussing 18 00:01:15.359 --> 00:01:19.760 a subject that became a real hot topic during the pandemic, going digital. 19 00:01:21.280 --> 00:01:25.879 Whether your office is looking to make that leap from or to digital or already 20 00:01:25.920 --> 00:01:30.680 has some features that are availble available digitally and it's looking at you more, 21 00:01:30.719 --> 00:01:34.280 this episode is going to give you some tips and knowledge to help you adapt 22 00:01:34.359 --> 00:01:40.120 to a more digital presence. The covid nineteen pandemic really accelerated the adoption of 23 00:01:40.159 --> 00:01:45.079 digital technology and Chiropractic care. When patients couldn't be seen in person, chiropractors 24 00:01:45.159 --> 00:01:48.560 really had to pivot and find alternative ways to care and connect with everyone in 25 00:01:48.599 --> 00:01:53.319 their practice. Even though things are trending towards normalcy, as we've seen recently 26 00:01:53.359 --> 00:01:57.280 here in the United States, some patients are still hesitant to returns it in 27 00:01:57.319 --> 00:02:02.040 person care or simply appreciate that flexibility of digital care. Let's explore the different 28 00:02:02.040 --> 00:02:07.520 ways practices can go digital. Tell a health mean tell a health exploded during 29 00:02:07.520 --> 00:02:14.800 the pandemic. Practices should absolutely continue tell the health services or consider offering tell 30 00:02:14.840 --> 00:02:17.599 a health if you don't do so already. What types of services, Josh, 31 00:02:17.800 --> 00:02:23.879 can chiropractors provide remotely? It's a great question, Brian. I mean 32 00:02:23.960 --> 00:02:29.479 tell health is huge. There are many services DC's can provide remotely, not 33 00:02:29.560 --> 00:02:37.400 limited to visual examinations, guiding self exams, posture and movement observation or the 34 00:02:37.439 --> 00:02:43.400 pedic and provocative testing, Ergonomic workstation assessment, which I just recently had done 35 00:02:43.439 --> 00:02:50.280 with my chiropractor, nutrition counseling and prescribing home exercises, which is also huge. 36 00:02:50.400 --> 00:02:53.479 This is not a comprehensive list, but paints a good picture that there 37 00:02:53.520 --> 00:03:00.000 are many services that DC's can offer virtually. Yeah, that's a great list. 38 00:03:00.639 --> 00:03:02.560 You think about it. As a Chiropractor, you're doing most of these 39 00:03:02.560 --> 00:03:07.280 things anyway, all right. So then to be able to offer them digitally 40 00:03:07.319 --> 00:03:09.680 in a digital age where people you've had to be you had to focus and 41 00:03:09.719 --> 00:03:14.360 a shift towards, you know, being flexible, and that's a great list. 42 00:03:14.360 --> 00:03:17.599 That allows chiropractors to focus on that you can do remotely. So what 43 00:03:17.639 --> 00:03:23.000 are some digital changes that seem small but make a big difference with patients? 44 00:03:23.039 --> 00:03:27.719 Do you think, Josh? The two biggest that I've heard recently our online 45 00:03:27.719 --> 00:03:34.560 appointments and electronic payments. Online appointments is crucial since, even prior to the 46 00:03:34.560 --> 00:03:39.199 pandemic, many people have become accustomed to using the Internet to do almost everything 47 00:03:39.240 --> 00:03:44.759 in their daily lives. We've learned that we can use emailing, texting and 48 00:03:44.800 --> 00:03:47.639 the Internet to get more accomplished in less time and, when we pick up 49 00:03:47.680 --> 00:03:52.719 the phone, to actually talk to someone. This is why offering online appointment 50 00:03:52.840 --> 00:03:58.560 booking is a small digital change that can make a big difference in your practice. 51 00:03:58.840 --> 00:04:02.319 It's a convenience that people have come to expect for the same reasons of 52 00:04:02.319 --> 00:04:08.159 getting more accomplished in less time. No recording men used to work through, 53 00:04:08.159 --> 00:04:13.919 no waiting on hold and no long conversations. In short, no wasted time, 54 00:04:14.319 --> 00:04:19.800 more work life balance reason. Market research conducted by finances online found that 55 00:04:19.920 --> 00:04:27.839 online appointment scheduling reduces no shows and as a must for businesses that want to 56 00:04:27.879 --> 00:04:32.600 stay competitive. In addition, help and wellness is the most popular type of 57 00:04:32.639 --> 00:04:40.079 service for people who use online appointment booking. If that's not enough to convince 58 00:04:40.120 --> 00:04:46.759 you ran consider this, the same survey revealed that fifty eight percent of healthcare 59 00:04:46.800 --> 00:04:51.519 providers use online booking. In the end, the easier you make it for 60 00:04:51.560 --> 00:04:57.800 your patients to make appointments, the more likely they will be to choose you 61 00:04:57.959 --> 00:05:00.720 rather than another practice. You hit the nail right on the head there. 62 00:05:00.759 --> 00:05:06.279 I mean offering online appointments is so crucial. People live on their phones. 63 00:05:06.319 --> 00:05:10.879 I mean you talk to a lot of Chiropractors, Josh. How many times 64 00:05:10.879 --> 00:05:14.079 do you hear almost, I'm pretty sure almost every time, that they are 65 00:05:14.079 --> 00:05:17.800 requesting as there there are patients are requesting this in a digital age right. 66 00:05:17.839 --> 00:05:23.279 Oh, it's huge. I mean it's the number one sought after feature in 67 00:05:23.319 --> 00:05:27.279 an Eh our system is to be able to book those online appointments and have 68 00:05:27.360 --> 00:05:30.720 their patients do it. Yeah, just given them a little bit more control. 69 00:05:30.800 --> 00:05:35.240 There's also electronic payments. It's a small digital change that is huge impact. 70 00:05:35.399 --> 00:05:40.800 Savvy practices will tell you that giving patients a choice of how they like 71 00:05:40.920 --> 00:05:46.120 to pay, whether that is online or in person, makes it more likely 72 00:05:46.160 --> 00:05:50.319 that you will be compensated for services at the time of visit. This is 73 00:05:50.399 --> 00:05:55.639 huge. Chiropractors like to get paid. That's one of the big things I 74 00:05:55.680 --> 00:06:00.199 hear all the time is I'm just not getting paid on time. Where is 75 00:06:00.199 --> 00:06:04.560 my money? How can you help? Some examples of electronic payment methods include 76 00:06:04.839 --> 00:06:11.519 payments taken directly from patients bank account through a handheld credit card terminal, via 77 00:06:11.600 --> 00:06:16.600 card swipe, chip, apple pay, android pay and and FFC transactions, 78 00:06:16.680 --> 00:06:21.560 or epay, where they can pay via an online link, making it easier 79 00:06:21.600 --> 00:06:28.160 for them to make the payment for the service render. Digital payment methods also 80 00:06:28.199 --> 00:06:33.720 allow patients on payment or membership plans to authorize automatic payments, which takes burden 81 00:06:33.759 --> 00:06:39.279 off both your staff and your patients. No one has to remember because the 82 00:06:39.279 --> 00:06:44.959 software does it for you. Making payment as easy as possible for patients increases 83 00:06:45.000 --> 00:06:49.319 your chance of getting paid on time, would reduce costs and increases revenue. 84 00:06:50.120 --> 00:06:56.000 Yeah, those are those are great points with getting paid, because every time 85 00:06:56.079 --> 00:07:00.680 a patient's going into an office, pretty much they're going to make a payment. 86 00:07:00.680 --> 00:07:02.839 You know, unless it's personality at workers contrash, you know as well 87 00:07:02.839 --> 00:07:06.279 as I do. They're going to make payment on a Copay, a care 88 00:07:06.360 --> 00:07:12.120 plan, and in order to do this, you have to have flexible terms 89 00:07:12.120 --> 00:07:15.120 in how you get paid. You're going to get paid faster, it's going 90 00:07:15.120 --> 00:07:17.720 to be cleaner, it's going to be easier. So offering that type of 91 00:07:17.800 --> 00:07:23.040 epay, I think really helps the practitioner, but it also helps the patient. 92 00:07:23.120 --> 00:07:26.959 Like the things that we're talking about, it's not only helping the practices, 93 00:07:27.040 --> 00:07:30.639 but it's helping the patients. Wouldn't agree? I absolutely, absolutely, 94 00:07:30.639 --> 00:07:36.639 making the patient's life easier and making the practice life easier. That's the key. 95 00:07:36.879 --> 00:07:42.199 Yeah, you're utilizing technology for everybody's benefit. I love this. So 96 00:07:42.240 --> 00:07:47.120 we've talked a lot about interacting with patients during appointments, but it's equally important 97 00:07:47.120 --> 00:07:51.759 to stay in touch with patients in between visits. So why is this a 98 00:07:51.800 --> 00:07:57.759 crucial practice in how can technology help? Will your practice needs a good electronic 99 00:07:57.800 --> 00:08:03.399 communication system to keep in touch with your patients before, after him between visits. 100 00:08:03.839 --> 00:08:09.480 It's huge. If you're not communicating with your patients, they're going to 101 00:08:09.519 --> 00:08:13.079 either not show up for appointments, they're going to waste your time by booking 102 00:08:13.079 --> 00:08:16.240 appointments and the no showing you, or they're just going to go down the 103 00:08:16.279 --> 00:08:20.079 road to the next chiropractor because they woke up thirty days later and felt pain 104 00:08:20.160 --> 00:08:24.160 and forgot all about you. Reach out is especially important for those patients who 105 00:08:24.160 --> 00:08:30.759 are not yet comfortable returning to in person health care. Appointments, but it's 106 00:08:30.800 --> 00:08:35.320 always important to keep your practice top of mine with your patients between visits. 107 00:08:35.759 --> 00:08:39.039 Practice is who stay in touch with her patients with text or emails can see 108 00:08:39.080 --> 00:08:46.720 substantial improvements in patient retention and brand building. Their patients will keep coming back. 109 00:08:46.960 --> 00:08:50.919 In the survey mentioned before, we learn that more chiropractors than ever before 110 00:08:52.000 --> 00:08:58.440 are using emailing, about fifty two percent, social media about fifty two percent, 111 00:08:58.679 --> 00:09:03.120 and texting a about forty three percent to stay in touch with their patients. 112 00:09:03.200 --> 00:09:09.200 It's clear that a good patient communication system is more important than ever and 113 00:09:09.320 --> 00:09:13.720 digital communication is the way to go. A hundred percent agree with this. 114 00:09:15.200 --> 00:09:18.480 We talked a lot about this during the pandemic because there were so many different 115 00:09:18.559 --> 00:09:24.960 changes going on, I mean week to week, day to day within the 116 00:09:24.000 --> 00:09:28.279 healthcare system, with what's going on with the pandemic. When could we be 117 00:09:28.360 --> 00:09:31.799 open? When could we not be open? When are returning to in person 118 00:09:31.879 --> 00:09:39.320 appointments and the patient engagement the communication was so important and continues to be important. 119 00:09:39.320 --> 00:09:41.879 Who got used to that right? I mean we're going on a couple 120 00:09:41.960 --> 00:09:46.240 years since covid and people are now getting used to hey, my my office, 121 00:09:46.320 --> 00:09:50.720 my chiropractor has been in touch with me, with text, with social 122 00:09:50.759 --> 00:09:54.120 media, with email, and so it's more and more important now to stay 123 00:09:54.120 --> 00:10:01.080 in front of that and make sure that you are utilizing those communication options within 124 00:10:01.200 --> 00:10:05.480 your software. Once you agree they're no, absolutely, absolutely, and you 125 00:10:05.519 --> 00:10:09.039 speak of the pandemic, and that's when is really hit home to me, 126 00:10:09.080 --> 00:10:13.480 because a lot of the doctors I spoke with that didn't have a good communication 127 00:10:13.639 --> 00:10:18.039 system. I talked to those doctors after the pandemic and they either retired, 128 00:10:18.240 --> 00:10:22.039 sold their practice or just close their doors. The people that had a great 129 00:10:22.039 --> 00:10:26.120 communication system in the time of emergency and change, we're able to stay in 130 00:10:26.159 --> 00:10:31.600 front of their patients and communicate things like offerings, like tell a health and 131 00:10:31.679 --> 00:10:37.200 different stuff like that. Now we've established that going digital and offering patient services 132 00:10:37.240 --> 00:10:41.039 online is a great way to go your practice. How can a practice management 133 00:10:41.080 --> 00:10:46.440 software like Cairo touch help a practice put these tips into action? The right 134 00:10:46.559 --> 00:10:52.159 chiropractic practice management software is the single most important upgrade you can make to digitally 135 00:10:52.200 --> 00:10:58.240 transform your practice.
